Expanding Our Capabilities

In December 2008 QMI invited a new arrival to our already diverse list of equipment. We purchased our first vertical lathe; a PUMA VT900. This increased our turning capabilities to 40" in diameter. In comparison to a horizontal lathe, a vertical lathe offers many advantages. It requires relatively less room, easy and quick loading and unloading, minimum clamping and excellent accuracy. This new machine is ideal for the large parts in high volumes that come through our shop.

NCDMM Summit Outing

This month we had the pleasure of attending the NCDMM Summit Golf Outing at Latrobe Country Club. What started out to be a rainy day turned into very comfortable weather for golf. The day began with 18 great holes of golf followed by a nice relaxing cocktail reception with great food. It was a wonderfull oppertunity to meet new people and network with other local companies. We look forward to the occasion again next spring.
